Lots of people get the occasional pimple or blackheads. But some of we lucky few really get with the program and have frequent or even ongoing problems with zits. Most people (over 85%) started getting pimples when they go through puberty. I think with all those hormones raging, it was probably nature’s way of keeping down the population until we have enough sense to be parents. And though most people stop having skin problems after a few years, many continue to have outbreaks well into their 50s and beyond. Now let me tell you about my tea tree oil acne treatment.

I don’t know about you, but I’d had enough already! It was time to clear things up naturally before there were nasty little permanent reminders of those not so lovely spots all over my face. But I didn’t want to smear a bunch of harsh chemicals on my face and I didn’t want to take a bunch of pills and most important, I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money. I didn’t want much did I?

Well as it turns out it wasn’t all that hard to do. Thanks to the internet I did a little research and was able to come up with this tea tree oil acne treatment and I’m gonna share. First we need to understand a little about the what causes our acne. You see, pimples are not just ugly; they are actually little infected pores all over our faces.

Everybody produces sebum on their skin and most particularly on their face. It’s an oily fat that your body produces to moisturize your skin and hair. We’re all glad we have it because it makes us look all glowing and softens our skin and keeps us from looking like dried up old prunes. But sometimes it mixes with dead skin cells and hunkers down in a nice cozy skin pore. Then sometimes it turns black and becomes those lovely blackheads we have to NOT PICK AT and sometimes it plugs the pore and a bacterial infection develops in the pore below and makes cute little red pimples. Sounds nice and colorful right?

So to get rid of these little pains, you need a one-two punch. First you need to keep your skin exfoliated. (Here all the guys say this sounds like a girl thing.) But it is really simple. You simply need some glycolic acid to put on your face to help keep the dead skin off. Don’t worry; glycolic acid is made from sugar, so it isn’t some sort of horrible chemical. Then you just dab a tea tree oil acne treatment on your skin to kill all the nasty bacteria and fungus.

And in short order you can say goodbye to acne forever. Don’t worry this treatment is very easy to use and in fact you can make both the tea tree oil treatment and the glycolic acid treatment yourself. Either way, there is no reason to suffer with acne anymore and no reason to use harsh chemicals.

Titanium dental implants are the most extensively used implants on the market today. This is due to their excellent compatibility and high strength to weight ratio. Dentists agree that titanium is an excellent material for producing durable long lasting implants but recent developments have led to some companies such as Nobel Bio care releasing a new wave of Zirconia tooth implants. This article will give you further information about this new wave of dental implants.

What is this Zirconia stuff anyway?

Zirconium is a grey -white transition metal in its purest form which resembles titanium. Zirconium is very resistant to corrosion and for this reason is most commonly used as an alloying material. Zirconium dioxide (ZrO2) or Zirconia is extensively used for lab equipment due to its high fracture toughness and chemical resistance.

Who makes Zirconia dental implants?

There are a few Zirconia implants on the market today. One of the main players for Zirconia implants is Nobel Bio care. They have introduced their patented one piece Zirconia implant. Other manufacturers include Zimmer and Biomet 3i.

What are the benefits of Zirconia implants?

Zirconia implants are said to provide an improved patient service with a quicker and more patient-oriented implant therapy. As Zirconia is white it has an obvious aesthetic advantage over titanium as it is indistinguishable from natural teeth. The high corrosion resistance of the material means that there is virtually no danger of corrosion with Zirconia tooth implants. In addition some patients may not like the idea of having metal inserted into their mouth in this case Zirconia implants offer patients another more comfortable option.

Are there any risks associated with using Zirconia?

One of the main risks associated with Zirconium based implants is radioactivity. Zirconium at any time can contain a certain number of radioactive isotopes. This can lead to an increased chance of various Oral cancers. Generally implants are produced from Zirconia material with extremely low radiation emission levels however all manufacturers of Zirconia dental implants are asked to produce a declaration of radioactivity for their Zirconium based dental products.

In conclusion one can see that there are a few advantages to opting for Zirconia implants – more natural looking implants being one of the main ones. Zirconia implants are definitely a viable option for you if you want to get implants but be sure to talk through all your options with your dentist before making any final decisions.

Frequent vacuuming helps clear the dust; but, for deep cleaning of carpets in order to get rid of stains and bacteria, some intense methods are required. The most commonly used cleaning method is to shampoo the carpets. However, shampooing comes with a host of side effects of its own, the most prominent being some form of leftover residue on the carpet, which are generally harmful chemicals that are components of the shampoo itself. Apart from being quite harmful, especially for toddlers crawling around the house or picking stuff off the floor to put in their mouths, the chemicals can also harm the carpet as the residual agents act on the fiber to make it rough or worn out.

Intense Carpet Cleaning

We require intense carpet cleaning at least once a month to remove tough stains, oily sticky soil, cooking vapors, tracked-in dirt etc. The frequency of such intense cleaning is low as the popular cleaning methods, if used frequently, can adversely impact the carpet’s life and also make its color dull.

Zero Residue Carpet Cleaning

The harmful chemicals present in the shampoo used for regular carpet cleaning methods penetrate into the fiber and cause a sticky surface. Hence, the next time someone walks in with muddy feet or the dog prances with its soiled feet, the soil sticks to the shampoo residue to create a dirt patch. There are a few zero residue carpet cleaning methods where shampoos are not used as cleansing agents, but other mild chemicals are used to break the dirt and they are then wiped away with intense cleaning methods.

Hot Water Extraction

The most highly recommended carpet cleaning method, suggested by 25 out of 27 carpet manufacturers, is hot water extraction, which cleans the carpet and helps keep it looking new. This process involves using a preconditioner, which contains certain chemicals that break up accumulated dirt or stains, following which a wand is used to pass super heated water through the carpet to thoroughly rinse and extract the preconditioner along with the built-up residue of the shampoo used previously and the dirt particles trapped in the carpet fiber. The hot water and cleaning agents are released into the carpet at a high pressure to loosen dirt, soil, and grime, following which a high powered vacuum removes the hot water mixed with all the dirt and stains in the carpet.

The hot water is filtered to bring the pH levels back to neutral, making the carpet free of harmful chemicals and safe for toddlers to crawl on.

Benefits of Hot Water Extraction

The key benefits of hot water extraction include:

• It is the safest process to ensure no chemicals are left behind, making the carpet safe for the kids.

• It does not cut down the carpet life after every cleaning.

• The method ensures that the pH levels, resulting from the use of chemical based agents, are completely neutralized by the end of the process.

• No shampoos are used; hence, there is no dirt attracting residue left behind on the carpet.

You must, however, consult with the cleaners beforehand for their suggestions for the most suitable cleaning method for the carpets in your house. They might suggest better alternatives with the same effects based on the carpet material.

The Forest Hill neighbourhood as seen today in Toronto, comes from a deep history starting back in 1860. The first residence built in the Forest Hill area was located on top of the hill within the forest, however while the hill still exists today, the forest does not.

In 1923, the Forest Hill area was officially incorporated as a village. Further developments took place throughout the 1920’s and 30’s, and the southern half of Forest Hill was completed development by 1940. The majority of developments in the northern half of Forest Hill were industry and railways.

In 1957, Forest Hill officially joined the City of Toronto. This neighbourhood and Swansea Village were two of the last independent villages to be annexed with Toronto. The neighbourhood is now represented by a seal that displays a deer etched in the stone window crown on the front facing gable over the entrance to a station.

Today, the Forest Hill neighbourhood is one of Toronto’s prestigious neighbourhoods. It’s well known for it’s gently sloping hills, winding roads, large brick and stone homes, spacious lots, and multiple beautiful natural parks. A building code that’s been followed in the neighbourhood since the 1920’s is that all homes are required to have a tree planted at the front of each property. This has worked wonderfully to help enhance it’s reputation as one of Toronto’s three most exclusive and affluent communities!

The houses offered here are some of Toronto’s finest real estate, and the actual neighbouthood is separated into lower and upper halves of Forest Hill. The lower part offers marvelous brick and stone mansions that were built in the earlier 1900’s, most of which are easily worth over one million dollars each. The upper part offers modern estates built between 1940 and 1960. These houses are still marketed towards the affluent, but are typically less expensive than the mansions found in the lower part of Forest Hill. You can also find numerous luxury condominium apartment buildings, located on the western side of Forest Hill. As for styles, well most of the estate in Forest Hill is Tudor or Georgian architecture, however there is also everything from French Colonial with terra cotta tiles to English country manors with sweeping lawns!

In 2007, the average sale price (not asking price) for a southern Forest Hill estate was $4.3 million Canadian dollars. A recently sold home featured:

– a 10,000 square foot home

– six bedrooms

– six bathrooms

– landscaped lot

– designer kitchen

– personal library

– walnut, cherry and oak paneling

– soundproof entertainment room

– exercise room with spa

To help you imagine a price tag for the houses located in southern Forest Hill, this large Toronto estate with all the above features, sold for $5.5 million Canadian dollars.

Shopping is convenient for residents, because there’re two shopping districts to choose from. The main shopping district is located on the intersection of Spadina Road and Lonsdale Road, which caters towards the affluent Toronto residence. The other nearby shopping district is located on Eglinton West Village, and offers many fine restaurants, as well as food stores to suit every taste and budget.

Educational opportunities are available to all Forest Hill residents. There’s many great nearby elementary and secondary public schools, as well as two of Toronto’s best private schools located locally within Forest Hill! For college and university students, there’s a few options located right in Toronto, you’ll have to look around to find the best for you depending on your major.

Transportation is easily accessible to the public. This area is conveniently located between multiple bus stops, and better yet, the bus service connects with Toronto’s subway lines. This allows extremely quick transportation to where ever you need to be in Toronto!

It always helps to give a good first impression. When people come across others, one of the first things they notice is their smile. People can introduce themselves with their smile therefore they should be confident in it. A smile that shows bright, white teeth has the ability to boost a person’s self-esteem.

When people are not completely confident in their smile, cosmetic dentistry is a good consideration. Cosmetic dentists can improve their teeth, gums and bite. They do not only focus on the look of a smile but on the overall health as well as teeth functionality. Below are some of the reasons to take cosmetic dentistry into consideration.

Missing Teeth

Missing teeth are not at all attractive. It may be one or more but whatever the number of missing teeth, this can be fixed by a skilled cosmetic dentist. They may use crowns, bridges, dentures or implants depending on a particular patient’s needs.

Crooked Teeth

Crooked or misaligned teeth can be caused by an underlying health condition. A lot of cosmetic dentists nowadays can carry out certain orthodontics like clear braces for adults. They may also use porcelain veneers to repair very crooked teeth without the need to wait for several years using traditional metal braces.

Discolored Teeth

Teeth whitening done by a cosmetic dentist gives better results than brands brought from stores. Also, efficient cosmetic dentists will give a whitening system for patients to take home so they can maintain the white shade of their choice.

Irregular Teeth

Teeth that are small, fanged or pointy can benefit from porcelain veneers. When consulting, it is best for a patient to cooperate with the dentist to create the desired new look with the help of the present advanced technology.

Damaged Teeth

People with cracked, chipped, damaged or worn-down teeth due to grinding in their sleep should visit a dentist. These problems can be repaired by procedures like a quick bond or a complete set of veneers, based on the patient’s needs.

Dental Phobia

Most cosmetic dentists perform sedation dentistry, which lets patients get more things done in one visit. Some people do not visit a dentist regularly because they do not feel comfortable. It is about time for them to consult a cosmetic dentist to be back on track.

Metal Fillings

Those with metal fillings may like to visit a cosmetic dentist to know their options for switching to metal-free fillings. According to others, metal fillings release toxins into the bloodstream that cause health problems in the long run.

Wrinkled Lips

When wrinkled and sunken lips are repaired, this can improve the smile of people and make them look a lot younger. They do not plan to see a dentist to have fuller lips but they can undergo some dental procedure so lips can look tighter and plumper. They should consult a dentist who performs Dental Lift or Lip Lifts.

Neglecting Teeth

People should visit a dentist when they have any concerns regarding their teeth. Otherwise, their teeth issues will only become worse and may result to other costly procedures. If they have complicated dental needs they should consider switching to a cosmetic dentist.

Perhaps you have considered a coral calcium supplement as a possible source of calcium to supplement your diet. Many products are available touting the benefits of “marine” grade coral calcium. So I wanted to check into this possible valuable supplement.

I have used a calcium magnesium supplement, Cal Mag for short, for over 25 years. Sometimes I have purchased the ingredients and mixed it myself. Other times I have used a prepared formula.

Even so, I wanted to evaluate the available data on coral calcium, being as unbiased as possible.

My first thought upon hearing of coral calcium supplements went something like this, “But, aren’t coral reefs living?”

Well, yes, they are. They are also endangered. So breaking off pieces of the living organism is not permitted. Instead the coral is mined from “fossilized” coral beds.

This means that the source is no longer living. But the mining does disrupt the ecosystem of the coral reefs where many other marine organisms live.

I found another issue with coral calcium. As with the expression, “You are what you eat,” so is the coral reef subject to the pollutants and toxins in it’s environment.

Coral calcium needs to be processed and purified to remove toxins. The coral reefs in polluted waters have absorbed lead and mercury. Both of these toxins adversely effect the human nervous system. Without purification of the highest standards, this supplement poses a serious health risk. High calcium absorption should come without undue risks to your health.

This means that you need to be diligent in investigating both the source of the coral calcium and you also need to find out about the purification. What toxins, pollutants and contaminants are being tested for and removed. Are they above or below industry standards?

But what about the trace minerals available from coral calcium supplements?

I found one product claiming to have 75 trace minerals. This sounds like it may be good. Let me ask you though, “How can purification of toxins be done and the trace minerals be left in tact?” Maybe it can, but to me, it just doesn’t add up.

Then there are two other points about trace minerals:

1. All the trace minerals needed and their dosages to maintain optimal health, are still not full researched. A leader in this micro-nutrient research is the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University.

2. Trace minerals obtained from diet are in the correct proportion and come with other nutrients that your body needs to use them. A healthy diet has been the source of trace nutrients centuries before we ever discovered them.

Now, I also came across claims that coral calcium benefits include treatment of different diseases. Such claims would require FDA evaluation and approval. Without verifying evidence of such approval, avoid any manufacturer claiming the benefits of their coral calcium in treatment of disease.

Any physician, dietician or nutritionist will tell you that long-term nutrient deficiencies will lead to disease. Any claims that a particular nutrient can cure or prevent disease is walking on thin ice. That is because no single nutrient acts independently. Each nutrient requires a “buddy” to work effectively and efficiently.

Supplementing only one nutrient, you are at risk of creating artificial deficiencies. This is when one nutrient is consumed in higher amounts than it’s buddy or buddies. The result is that a deficiency of the buddy nutrient begins to appear.

For example, by taking calcium and B, you can create a vitamin C deficiency. It is just that the available C is not enough to meet the increased need when the other two have been supplemented.

My conclusion is that coral calcium supplement is not for me. I have no desire to contribute to the disruption or erosion of an ecosystem to obtain a nutrient I can adequately get elsewhere.

Moving into a new area can be overwhelming to begin with and on top of that if you require a local dentist immediately it can be frustrating. However, here are some tips to help you find the local dentist:

Browse the American Dentistry Directory website and put in the ZIP code. It will look up the names of the dentists within the 30 miles area. Other related categories of surgeons and orthodontists will also be available along with the listing of general dentistry. Additionally, you can consult the local telephone directory to find the local dentists. If you are in a large city, there will be multiple listings according to specialization but if it is a small rural town, there might be just one list. You have several options to choose from so finding the right one for you depends on what you need. Some dentists will keep their office open longer in the day some will offer weekend care, and some will offer special care to certain age groups such as pediatric dentistry.

To begin your search for a local dentist you must first determine why you are contacting them to begin with. Are you currently in pain? If so, you don’t have time to look for one that best suits your needs you need to go with one that can accept emergencies or new patients and one that accepts your insurance company if you have insurance. If you are not in pain you can begin your process of finding a dentist by process of elimination. Make a list of all the dentists that are in the area and you don’t have to drive to far to see.

You can also ask for referrals from family and friends as a reference provides peace of mind about the dentist’s services. Conversely, you can take a drive through the city and look for signboards of dentists. Malls and shopping complexes are also good places to look for a dentist. Another aspect can be to ask your existing doctor to refer another dentist in the area, where you intend to move. Ask for a list of nearby dentists listings that are affiliated with American Dental Association.

Once you make your list you are ready to start eliminating. First start by calling each dentist office to see if they accept your insurance company, what hours they keep, what procedures they perform, and if they are accepting new patients. Once you have went through your list marking the ones that do not offer services you need or didn’t meet your criteria you can begin to call back the ones that are still on the list. Request a consultation to see if you feel confident with any of the dentist that make your list. Sometimes you may need to pay a small fee for consultation while other times the consultation is free.

Once you find the right dentist for you, tell others about it by writing up a review and posting it online or you can post it to their direct website if someone is searching for a new dentist and comes to their website for more information. Your review can be the deciding factor as to whether a person goes with them or not. When you review all the names on your list and you decide on one dentist in particular that can create a nice smile with healthy teeth and gums, you will be honored to pay them back with a good recommendation.

Crooks that scratch off the serial numbers of their firearms are not as smart as they believe. There are several methods that forensic firearms investigators use at their disposal for finding hidden serial numbers. All the methods have a common denominator: Whenever metal is pressure stamped, not only does the metal have indentations of numbers, but the metal underneath the numbers contains resultant structural abnormalities.

There are three methods for revealing missing serial numbers:

  • Magnaflux method–The forensic scientist first magnetizes the firearm. Magnetizing produces ripples of magnetic forces used to locate where the metal is disordered from the pressure stamping process. He then sprays the firearm with an oil that suspends any iron-like particles. These particles tend to settle in places where the metal is disordered. This reveals the location of the hidden serial number. This method is advantageous because it is not destructive and does not change the weapon in any way.
  • Chemical and electrochemical etching method–The forensic firearm examiner paints what is known as an etching solution over the area in question. The solution etches the disordered metal quicker than the metal around it. The numbers immediately come into view. Applying an electrical current (electrochemical etching) speeds up the process. This method is disadvantageous because it changes the physical makeup of the evidence. If the forensic scientist overindulges in this method, he can destroy the evidence for good.
  • Ultrasonic cavitation method–This particular method is a destructive method like chemical etching. In this method, the forensic scientist puts the firearm in a special ultrasonic bath and inundates it with super high frequency vibrations. These vibrations produce the cavitation. Cavitation is the process when tiny bubbles are produced along the surface of the metal. With repeated exposure, the process of cavitation starts eating away at the metal. Cavitation will eat away metal in the places where the metal is disordered, thus revealing the serial number.

If an offender attempts to file off serial numbers on a firearm he used in a crime, there are scientific ways to reveal the serial number no matter how much of the number has been destroyed. Finding such a number can help solve a crime and bring the perpetrator to justice.
